An experience I had in my Sophomore Vessel Ops Class was that we were talking about and learning about The Jones Act. I had to make a google slides presentation with my partner Carlos. It is important to know about The Jones Act when you are in the maritime field. It is still a big part of the Maritime Industry today. The Jones Act is an Act that is federal and regulates maritime commerce in the United States , Act requires goods shipped between U.S. ports to be transported on ships that are built in the U.S.
I learned a lot about The Jones Act during that assignment, I never knew that it existed. I think The Jones Act has many important features that help keep our country and waterways safe.
