NY Water Taxi Site Visit

During this semester we have been doing site visits all around our harbors. This one in specific was the water taxi owned by the circle line. I have recently done an internship with circle line sightseeing cruises, with this knowing the business during the off-seasons of the tour runs. Meaning that they get fewer people on tours, so for this, they use smaller boats like the Water Taxi. But this work is an amazing place to start because they teach you the requirements to work on their vessels. This ride was unique and comfortable compared to when my school's boat Indy 7 went out and did a pretty similar route to see the statue. I recommend this to people who want nice pictures close to the statue of liberty and a view of Manhattan from a distance and as we pass by, or just to enjoy a boat ride with a wonderful view. The harbor is also filled with many other vessels. Many vessels are designed to fulfill a specific task. NY Waterway and Horn Blowers are designed to make trips and stops at specially built floats to unload people. But water taxi ties up to the side of a pier and makes lines off to cleats which makes it different from other companies. The water taxi also has many other routes that include IKEA, charters, and hop on and hop off service routes. The water taxi is unique from horn blowers it has a variety of things to choose from compared to Hornblowers specifically focusing on transportation. Bringing people from many different borrows to manhattan to replace the down subway lines. Going back to my internship at circle line the job is simple but you can't mess up. The job is also very repetitive and may get very boring and annoying. I don't mind doing this kind of work because its fun and working with a crew that is experienced would also benefit me because I would be able to learn a lot more on top of the job itself.
