In October, myself and a crew of 9 went up to Mystic CT for 3 days and two nights to down-rig a schooner, Amistad. We took down spars and sails while labeling them. We worked hard, had fun and bonded as a group. Fast forward 5 months later, our CTE instructor announced there will be another trip back to Mystic to up-rig the same boat with a bigger crew of 16 students. We worked, got the boat ready for the season. The public showers there weren’t on so we went two days without showering which was a low point. However, all the work we got done and the bonds we made overpowered the low points by a mile.
