Underway Labs

Last Tuesday, the 16th, we did an underway lab picking up moorings on the Buttermilk Channel. The challenge was angling the boat so the mooring could be picked up safely and angling the boat towards the flood that was coming in. When I was at the helm going to the first mooring the ride was fine. We had pretty good luck in picking up the mooring. Going to the second mooring Armani was helm. He did as well as he could to position the boat perfectly, but the mooring line was tangled in something, and that led to the crew responding very slowly, with Aaron having to get up to help. Although not directly Armani's fault, he took the heat for the poor response time because he was at the helm. The Captain is directly in charge of everything that goes on on their boat.
