Crane Day

Last week, the Vessel Ops junior class went out for crane day. The crane wire had gotten stuck in the pulley. Captain Luis was able to fix it with the boat hook. Everyone had a job to do. It was a great experience for the junior class to learn how to operate the A-frame on Privateer. We also learned how to use hand signs to communicate with the person who is directing the crane. If it's too windy or the door is shut, we still need to contact the person with their hands on the controls. We all wore hard helmets and life jackets to be safe.
