The Bird leaving the nest.

From my most recent experience and my most fulfilling moments, I am looking forward to the views when getting back on the water. Being raised in Brooklyn, you get used to the same views, buildings, streets, faces, etc. and then it starts to feel repetitive. Going to school in Manhattan was a change I wanted because I knew I was going to see a different side of NYC. Going to school on Governors Island wasn't the view I expected, especially driving boats in school and spending my summers at internships sites but it was the best view I couldn’t have ever asked for. While out on the water whether it’s on a sailboat or a motorboat I feel refreshed, calm and peaceful, it brings me the most joy I can ever find and going to a school where I can experience this feeling every day is going to make me miss Harbor School. I have heard from many Mariners, “If you love what you are doing, it will never feel like work”. The opportunities I got from this school, the lessons I learned, the memories I have created will always be with me. School never felt like school, it felt like an accomplishment, I would finish my classes throughout the day and spend the rest of my time out on the water doing what I love. Thank you Harbor School for making my high school experience beyond amazing! I will always remember this school and the memories we shared! I won’t forget where I came from! <3
