“Come Aboard Shearwater!”

The Schooner Shearwater turned 90 this year! She’s been around for a long time and has worked beautifully for the summer I worked on her and the past. Shearwater brings about fun days and tours to the pride of New York, Statue of Liberty. Working aboard her was a new experience for me work-wise. I got to learn so much regarding how to set up the sails, deal with the backstays, and learn how to handle passengers. I can gladly say that I am more knowledgeable about sailboats than I was when I entered Vessel Ops. From raising the halyards to sheeting in the forestaysail. Got to thank the Shearwater crew.
